About the Role:

As a Database Engineer, you are the custodian of the systems that power every application, transaction, and business decision. You sit at the core of our engineering ecosystem, ensuring data is secure, reliable, and always available.

You design scalable database architectures, optimize performance, maintain data integrity, and build resilient systems that enable engineering teams to ship with confidence. From schema design to high availability and security, you ensure our data infrastructure evolves alongside the business while supporting AI-ready and high-performance applications.

This is not a "manage databases" role you're the strategic force behind data reliability, system scalability, and the foundation that enables every product to perform at its best.

• Design, develop, and maintain database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and queries.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for performance and scalability.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot database-related issues.
• Perform database tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Manage database backups, recovery processes, and data migration activities.
• Ensure database security, access control, and data integrity.
• Collaborate with backend developers, architects, and DevOps teams on database design and implementation.
• Support production databases and resolve incidents efficiently.
• Automate database maintenance and operational tasks.
• Maintain documentation for database architecture, processes, and configurations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
• Hands-on experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Understanding of database design, normalization, indexing, and performance optimization.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of database security practices and access management.
• Familiarity with cloud database platforms is a plus.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python/Shell) for automation is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with software engineering teams.
